Great city hotel for a short break

The hotel was in a good location for both public transport and for looking round the city. The room was very unusual. It was a lovely size and extremely clean. The bed lived up to its reputation for a good night's sleep! The breakfast was delicious and the breakfast room was lovely to be in.

There didn't seem to be a bar for a nightcap at the end of the evening. However there were plenty of bars in the area.

A highlight of our visit to Portugal!

Amazing! The most fabulous boutique hotel in delightful Coimbra. The facilities were exceptional as were the staff. We did not want to leave… the most comfortable bed. It was like sleeping on a cloud. We loved the original decor and attention to detail.

The Hastens Sleep Spa left us wanting to return!

The hotel lobby was beautiful and our room equally so. LOVED the concept of the marble books throughout the bathroom area. Bed - amazing. Pillows - like a cloud (as Lara promised!) Breakfast buffet was far beyond the basic pastries at other hotels; and the ability to order scrambled eggs was a real treat. And the food was so fresh and beautifully presented. And your staff provided the best customer service we ever experienced. Lara was so professional, yet warm and engaging, taking the time to answer questions about Coimbra and give us a short history about the hotel itself. Ana Jesus was also lovely; quick to help however she could.

Wonderful

Close to city centre and the staff (Ana and Mark) were great! Very comfortable bedding and pillows. Our room had a spectacular decor. Would suggest bathroom glass wall facing the bed be changed to opaque glass for more privacy. The parking is free but a bit of a walk back to the hotel. Construction in front of the hotel limited access for loading and unloading luggage but hopefully that will be better after the construction is complete.

Stay at Hastens, feel the cloud effect and sleep like no other.

As soon as we take the first step inside this little nest, we feel that we are in a sophisticated place, full of details and with a striking design. We were immediately welcomed into a relaxing atmosphere with the utmost friendliness from the staff who did everything they could to make our stay a special moment — special thanks to Mark, who was super friendly and helpful. Very fast check-in process. The room is top notch work, extremely comfortable, very quiet, well designed and equipped with high quality amenities. The concept of sleep spa as a global experience is something we want to repeat soon! Comfort and quality, worthy of 5 stars. Excellent location, right in the historic center, discreet building and great facilities.

The lack of bar service (at the rooftop) during the afternoon, as well as slippers/pajamas, was a bit of a disappointment, bus not a trouble for us. Breakfast could be more varied offering more products,

The staff is exceptional. 5 o'clock complementary tee is excellent. Breakfast is very good. Hastens bed is wonderful.

Unbelievable and Amazing!!

The staff was amazing!! Though the cost is higher than many places, the rooms are comfortable and inviting, and there are many perks such as a huge breakfast and afternoon tea (basically lunch or an early dinner) as well as a free nightcap until 10pm. Very nice extras that keep you engaged in you hotel experience.

Parking was not clear to me even after texts from the staff. Here’s what you need to know. You can fully drive into Largo da Portagem and park in front of the hotel door to unload bags. Then there is some easy parking in a lot across the bridge. Some more challenging parking exists up the medieval hill with narrow road near the hotel. Know your parking before you arrive if you are driving.
